Our Training Team has just gotten bigger and we’d like to tell you all about it!

But first we’d like to say a special Thank You to a group called “Autism R US” who recently ended their long running project in Nottinghamshire and in doing so donated all of their closing finances to us at Autistic Nottingham to carry on our work.

Autism R Us were a group of people with Autism who felt passionately about passing on their lived experiences to others without Autism. They developed and presented training packages to organisations and groups in and around the Nottinghamshire area for over 8 years.
The group hoped this would enable neurotypical people to gain an understanding about how people with Autism perceive things very differently. They hoped this would enable more independence, choices and self esteem for people with Autism. Their strapline, “nothing about is without us”, was very important to the group

Autism R Us – Nottinghamshire

From one Autistic led training team to another, we hope we can carry on the good work Autism R Us started in educating our local communities about autism and what it means to be Autistic. 

The team will be working on a variety of courses and workshops from workplace mentoring/Autism Acceptance training through to group sessions specifically for Autistic people to learn more about their own condition.
