The simple answer is: autism doesn’t impact intelligence.

Autistic people span the full range of IQ, from very high IQ’s, to having a co-occurring intellectual disability (IQ<70)

*IQ has a long and problematic history, and isn’t a great measure of ability for a number of reasons.

*”Smart” isn’t a value judgement. We all have different levels of intellect, and we are all valuable individuals regardless of our intellectual abilities.
